about

Metonymy is a duet album of two famous Moscow musicians and performers Alexey Kruglov and Anna Chekasina. The artists began to collaborate in 2002, participating in each other’s projects, creating programs that are ideologically close to the direction of the instrumental theater as well as literary and musical performance. The release represents improvisational program music. The structure of the album is a multi-part conceptual composition in which metonymies are the names of parts. Metonymies simultaneously act as figurative artistic means, referring to the creative paths of two artists, who develop their own methods within the aesthetics of improvisational art.
