We imagined and created "The Legend of..." being in dreams of the vocal and instrumental ensemble's ideal sound of the near future.
Here is an Ensemble's live recording, performed at the Mosfilm studio, in which we have preserved the colorfulness and energy of the concert performance. If you were at our concert in 2008-2013, for example — at Alexey Kozlov's club, or earlier — at "Olympiada 80", you might have heard something very similar.
Once recorded, the album was imbued for a long time with nostalgia for those nice times, as well as with the energy of the Earth; we buried the recording under its surface for a few years, following the recommendations of the classics of dub. After that, we spent another couple of years, mixing chosen tracks on an iPad with a little help of professionals at a Big Brother. A usnd as a result we managed to fuse a magical amalgam: the blend and integration of jazz and new rhythmic music.
It always seemed to us that there was more in common between these worlds than it might seem from the distance, and we really wanted to explore this territory much deeper.
A certain incompleteness traceable in the title of the album leaves the opportunity for the listener to draw (or not to draw!) for themselves a line of distinction between the sophistication of pure jazz and the energy and sound power of newer rhythms and songs. However, we were very happy to go borderless, trying to achieve purely musical perfection on this album, trying to get rid of ideological or stylistic formatting completely, allowing the spaceships of the imagination to take us absolutely freely into the land of artistic ideas.
