about

The idea to record a completely improvisational album was born 5 years ago in our mind with drummer Peter Ivshin while working in “Krugly Band”. Sometimes we had to play duet improvisational solos in the orchestra and this prompted us to think about co-creation. To form a full-fledged sounding of the album, we invited pianist and composer Alexey Nadzharov, who added harmonic and noise textures for more color and content. For the first time ever we recorded in trio without double bass, and this allowed us to play more freely rhythmically and melodically. In addition to the tenor saxophone, flute and clarinet, I used ethnic folk instruments rare for jazz, such as Indian bansuri flute and Armenian duduk. Their sound instantly teleports to the atmosphere of ancient cultures and makes it possible to touch the mysteries of the universe.
